Michael Boggs is on a journey, and watching God open doors has filled the journey with surprising twists. In 1999, he joined FFH, a widely successful group with seven No. 1 radio singles and seven GMA Dove Awards nominations. He recorded five FFH projects with Essential Records and as a member of the band was involved in numerous special event projects. When FFH took time off the road in the fall of 2006, Michael stepped into the role of worship leader for the young adults ministry Kairos at the band’s home church in Brentwood, Tenn., something he had done with the band up to that point.
As a worship leader, Michael offers a more modern worship sound than the straight-ahead pop style of FFH, and he recently recorded two solo worship projects –a live worship album and a collection of hymns. "My own style and sound is more akin to Chris Tomlin or Matt Redman. I use songs that I’ve written with FFH and some new worship choruses I’ve written, as well as current worship songs. I choose worship choruses that are melodic and easy to sing, that people can relate to and remember. I also use hymns for worship time because I love and am drawn to the real lyrical depth that they can offer."
"It’s my prayer that people are able to worship and connect with God amidst all their busyness and in spite of all the hustle and bustle of life. I believe God wants to quiet their soul with his love, like Zephaniah 3:17 says, and reveal his glory to them in a very real and authentic way. My job is to feel the pulse of God and also the pulse of the people, and then bring them together. If I can help people feel the heartbeat of God, I feel that I have done my job. That’s when true, authentic worship happens."
